Hello and welcome to the new forum.
First, I'd like to tell you that "Novo Libera" means "to create freely" in Latin. This may or may not be the final production name. See the “Executive Discussion” message board for a discussion of possible names.
The next order of business is to reiterate the promise I’ve already made;
INTERNATIONALIZATION – The application will support as many languages as I have people to translate them. I will create a simple text file that allows people to create their own “language modules”. The language modules will appear automatically under configuration when the files are placed into the correct directory. Contributors who’s language modules make it into the main distribution will be acknowledged in the About Dialog (if they would like to be), and will receive a free copy of the commercial version when it becomes available.
SOLICITATION - The precursor to soliciting contributors should be to summarize my purposes for creating a software company. I created Jalapeno Vision because (1) I want to create software that truly matters (is helpful) to people, (2) I don’t believe that small business software innovation is dead, as our corporate industry leaders want us all to believe, (3) I want to work for myself full time so that I can work from home, decide my own hours, and see my family more often.
Notice that nowhere in my list of reasons do I mention that I want to get rich or be the next Bill Gates. I say this because I’m open to any suggestions that can help me to achieve (1) and (3). With a little persuasion, this leaves the entire gamut of possibilities open to those that would like to contribute. I’d like to invite you to continue the discussion about contributing in the “Executive Discussion” message board.
Thanks,
Tim Penrose
